How it started
From Banking to Building Glasgow 8 Seaters
Before working in private hire, I worked in banking. When my first child became seriously unwell and needed ongoing care, I realised that a traditional career no longer fitted what my family needed from me.
I still wanted work that demanded responsibility, reliability and professionalism — but I also needed the flexibility to be there when my family needed me most. Private hire offered a different way forward.
Over the years, working alongside established operators across Scotland and the UK, I learned what makes a journey run smoothly. It isn’t complicated promises. It’s clear communication, proper planning and consistency — especially when people have flights to catch, young children with them or long journeys ahead.
That experience now spans more than a decade working with the public and established transport businesses. Along the way, we’ve built relationships with returning customers, including travellers visiting Scotland from abroad.
Those experiences helped shape Glasgow 8 Seaters. Today, the aim remains the same: connect customers with suitable licensed drivers and make the booking side as straightforward and dependable as possible.

Agreed pricing
We provide an upfront quote for the agreed journey. Any changes involving extra stops, waiting or a revised route can be discussed before they’re made.
How the service operates: Glasgow 8 Seaters Ltd arranges bookings as a booking and dispatch agent. Journeys are carried out by independent, licensed private hire drivers or operators, who provide the transport. Our role is to coordinate the booking and communicate the agreed arrangements clearly.
